As a mere "employee", I am of course not privee to all the management and owner "goings on", and so I can say very little, except that because Planet Rock's ratings have consistently risen over the last two years and is the most listened to digital rock station and I'm proud to say that Rick's Place is the most listened to digital radio show, then I am hopeful that some potential buyer out there in the market place will see the true value and potential of this radio station, and snap it up. ....if I had the money I'd buy it myself!
I am extremely hopeful that there will be a happy outcome to this and I may well spearhead a "Save Planet Rock" campaign myself I feel so strongly about it. In the meantime, things for me at Planet Rock will carry on as normal. Next month sees a YES month special and I will in fact be seeing Chris Squire this week to interview him for one of the special programmes and it's hoped that I can speak to as many members, past and present, as possible in order to make it "very special".
As things develop one way or another with Planet Rock, I will continue to issue updated statements.
Rick would like to thank everyone who emailed him about the announcement for their support.
There is an independant website that is co-ordinating a campaign to save the station at saveplanetrock.co.uk
