Rick's Ramblings November 2025

Rick's Ramblings November 2025

Well, what a month October was! Just a couple of days ago I arrived home pretty exhausted but extremely happy as the Caped Crusader tour exceeded all my expectations and I have to say this incarnation of the English Rock Ensemble, was the best ever, and I have had some wonderful line ups over the years so this is really saying something. On numerous occasions I would gaze around the stage and marvel at some of the incredible playing that went on and add to that it was an extremely happy band, no bickering, just friendship all around.

Also we have to add to the fabulous band of musicians, a great professional crew which culminated in a tour full of great playing, many laughs and many new friendships forged.

I have to personally thank the band and crew for helping me in so many ways - I had some serious health issues to deal with throughout the tour and without them, I am not convinced I could have got through without incurring problems along the way.

I only wish we could have recorded some of the shows for posterity, but apparently, it was not possible.

I mentioned the health issues and they are being dealt with during this month with surgery followed by a fairly long recovery period which is fine as I had allowed for this as long ago as three months when I knew I would need the surgery and indeed why the American tour had to be postponed as any long distance flights were ruled out, although by March next year I will be fine to travel to the USA for the short tour with Oliver.

There's quite a lot happening this month and December too, including more promotion of Melancholia which I am so pleased to announce, entered the official album charts at number 19.

The reviews of the album have been so positive and that is so pleasing for me as a lot of work, preparation and time went into the composing and recording of the album and it would be nice one day to be able to perform some of the pieces live.

Because of the recovery period after the operation, it does give me time at home to spend more time at the piano, both playing and also composing for new projects already in the pipeline.

Once again, thanks to everyone who came to see the Caped Crusader tour and helped to make it so memorable. There will be more with this line up, there has to be, it's so special.
