GORR October 2013

What a mad month September was, and it looks like being a mad run up to Xmas as well.

A total change in the organisation for the Journey shows next year was the major issue that took place during the month and that has resulted in some real progression as regards the long term future of Journey as you will read from the latest Journey update statement on the site.

More dates added means we are now looking at perhaps up to 14 shows for the Easter period which would be tremendous and in the new year I will sit down with the new management team and plan the next stages. (In truth, they are already planning them now, but nothing will be confirmed until the UK dates are announced).

This month on the 5th I have my final piano one man show of the year at the Quartz Festival in Taunton which I am very much looking forward to and the following day I will be part of a charity event organised by my good friend and narrator of Journey, Peter Egan at The Mill at Sonning.

On Sunday 13th, Ian Lavender and I will be repeating our original one off performance together of an Evening of Lavender and Pike which features music and also some rather interesting and often hilarious insights into Dad’s Army. I am not sure if tickets are still available, but maybe it’s worth a check if you fancy a very different kind of evening.

At least 2 days filming for Watchdog are booked in for the month although of course I never get to find out the subject matter until the day of filming, so it will be just as much a surprise for me as it will be for you when it’s aired! .....They are such great fun to do and I have a great scriptwriter who always comes up with the goods.

On the 19th I will be at Tewksbury for a performance with the Cheltenham Symphony Orchestra where I will be the narrator for The Young Person’s Guide to the orchestra.

There is no doubt that much of the month will be taken up with more preparation for next year’s very special concerts plus some time for new recordings in the studio.

There are at least three other excellent projects in the pipeline for which I need to get writing for and more about them nearer to Xmas when they are further down the line.

In the meantime...enjoy the month and try not to think of Xmas just yet!!!!

Cheers,
Rick
